Day 168, 169 and 170: 5 months anniversary, Tokyo Summerland and looking for apartment together

Wednesday 22nd of July
Yay for 5 months with Jimmy!
Too bad I had Uni and work ;_;
During Japanese class we were only 4 people, then only 3 for the last class xD It was so strange to be so few in class... Then it was work again, and a few students didn't show up. After all, everything went smoothly~
Since Jimmy and I didn't have any time today to celebrate we enjoyed some yummy fastfood together in Shinjuku after work. I also bought a new bikini for Tokyo Summerland~

Thursday 23rd of July
Who is ready for Summerland? Not us because it's raining! *cries* So instead we ended up doing school work/reading for exams... And that is mostly what we did. During the afternoon we went to Ikebukuro for some shopping, but nothing was of interest...It's weird how when you're set on shopping, you don't find anything...
I had an awesome salad wrap so I'm happy!
I also bought a new mango tea!

Friday 24th of July
Finally time for Summerland!
http://www.summerland.co.jp/english/

It took about 1 hour and 45 minutes to get there! And since we wanted to be there when it opened we had to be take the first train at 07:31... We didn't have to change trains too many times so it wasn't too bad. BUT! Guess what... We forgot 2 of bags on one of the trains... We put them on the top shelf while sitting and forgot to take them with us when leaving the train. So we had to ask at the station, but at the end station the staff hadn't get the bags reported. So either it's on the train back or someone took it. So Jimmy is going to call tomorrow to see if it has been reported in and the bags are in the system (so we know which station they ended up at).

Hopefully we'll get them back! Since our towels and Jimmys swiming shorts were in the bags, we had to buy new ones at the Summerland. Good thing we could buy new!

Then we had fun for 3 hours before the weather turned bad and we went back home to study. Later we went to look for a new place together.

The common space is pretty small, but the room was very nice! We have a big balcony (common use, but hey, it's closest to us xD) Big wardrobe and mirror and the bed is under the ceiling so we have a lot of space. I think we'll take it! It's also the only room on the third floor so hopefully we won't hear much from the others.

163-167: 3 more exams to go, and I made Norwegian food; Rundstykke med brunost!

Friday 17th July
In Sustainability-class there were the last two people presenting. It went quick and we took a group picture together. I'm going to miss the teacher because she was very nice! I also handed in my final report for the Social change in Japan-class. It was 3 pages and I wrote about womens status during the Meiji Period. It think gender issues are very interesting so I'm glad I could write about it. In the final class we also talked about our report to each other before saying our goodbyes to the teacher.
After class I met Jimmy in Shibuya to eat dinner at Watami. Jimmy also bought a new PC!

Saturday 18th July
Even though I just want to relax all weekend, I had woooooork! Well, I said yes to it myself, so can't complain. First I met with Goto to talk about available working hours at his privat "English school" (Very small). Then I had a 1 hour session conversation practice with one of my own students. I also got to do all the shopping for my friend Siri. She wanted me to buy her a lot of different things from Japan ^^
Sunday 19th July
Today I prepared for my presentation, relaxed and had a 2 hour English session in Shibuya. That's pretty much it...Ah! I made rundstykke from the whole grain flour my mom sent me!
And the brown cheese survived! I'm soooo happy!!!
Monday 20th July

From 10.00-12.00 I had my group over for practicing our presentation that is tomorrow. The presentation is about Trends in tourism; Japan and Norway.
And of course, we had to take a tour around my share place:

The practgicing went very well! So after they left I went jogging, but it was so damn hot, it ended mostly in walking, haha!

Since it's a red day in Japan called Marine Day (海の日 Umi no Hi), I hoped it would be free from work. But it wasn't so I still had to go. But I was not the only onw thinking so; 4 out of 7 students didn't show! Haha!
Tuesday 21th July
Dooms day; presentation!!!! It actually went pretty good. Next Tuesday is the last class where we get our Journals back etc. 3 exams done, 2 to go!!!

I have been in love with fruits lately~~ Soooo good! But very expensive *cryyy*

Day 149, 150 and 151: EXAM OVERLOAD!

Friday 3rd of July
We had the day off from Uni! :D But the whole day went to do my Global Mindset-presentation... While everyone in Norway are enjoying their vacation, I'm doing my exams xD I'm writing about trends in tourism. We are 4 in the group; me and 3 japanese students. So I'm writing about tourism in Japan and they are writing about tourism in Norway. I'm finished with the powerpoint, but my "manuscript" is not done yet. As a group we're having a meeting on wednesday, and everyone is suppossed to be done by then. Let's see how it turns out~ Jimmy and I went to Shinjuku to get some information about working visa etc, but they couldn't really help us, haha. So we crashed in Shinjuku for lunch and a little bit of shopping!
Saturday 4 th of July
Lol, overslept soo bad xD Haha! Did some more exam-stuff, soooo boring! But it needs to be done, lol. Jimmy and I made taco! Yummm <3 Reminds me soooo much of Norway!
Then I had my English tutoring from 18-20 before going back to Jimmy.
Sunday 5th of July
Jimmy had his JLPT-test in Meidaimae 12:30, so we took the train together because that's the train that goes to my home. So when I got home I made banana-cookies!
They are only made from bananas, peanutbutter and oats ^_^ So chewy and yummy!
Then I went jogging for 1 hour~

It started to rain a little at the end, but it was ok ^_^ Then I made dinner, ate, took a shower, did some random stuff on the pc, cleaned my room, washed clothes and that's about it...Ah! I also made dinner for tomorrow ^^ Because I have many hours at Uni before work, I make dinner beforehand so I don't have to buy and eat unhealthy food. So I made chicken with carrots and pumpkin.

Day 145,146,147 and 148: New job? Dinner and exams

Monday 29th of June
Normal as alway; bike to Uni, classes, did my Japanese homework, went to work and took my bike home. There are always a ton of insects outside after sunset, and I don't know how many insects I get in my eyes, mouth etc... I don't even remember what I did when I got home...Probably cleaned my room, took a shower and went to bed.
Tuesday 30th of June
So today I had my "trial lesson" at Infinity, a private tutor place. I had two 3 year old kids that I taught ABC's, numbers and colors. It it's too bad I live 1 hour and 15 minutes away. But it was fun! I hope I can work more there. Jimmy met me after work and we ate dinner together

Then we walked for a while before heading home.
Wednesday 1st of July
Work on Wednesday usually is a little stressing, because there are many students, but because 3 students where absent, it was a little easier. One of the students kept falling alseep, and actually had the nerves to be angry at me for waking him up... Like, excuse me? Go home if you're gonna sleep?
When work was over I went to Shinjuku to meet Jimmy. We also had dinner before going to Jimmys place

Thursday 2nd of July
Today I have been doing one thing..And that it my sustainability Studies' exam about fish farming in Norway. And I'm still not finished. I'm going to be pretty busy with exams from now in so I think my blog is going to be extremly boring (more than normal, haha!). For lunch, Jimmy made a delicate fruit salad:
Then it was more exam...Then we went out to eat sushi~

Day 140 and 141: Kanji homework and my first private English tutoring!

Hello!

Wednesday 24th of June

EXAMS ARE COMING SOON! All my exams are next month, so it's about time I get serious about it. I have already begun on my group presentation in the Global Mindset-class. We're four in the group, me being the only non-japanese. We're doing a presentation about tourism in Norway and Japan, so I'm excited how it's going to turn out. Hopefully good, because I want a good grade, lol! We met today during lunch and it seems like it's going the right way.

For work, I actually had a lot of fun! During the last part, me and two of my students slipped over from English to teach me kanji. They we're so enthusiastic they used their whole body to explain me, of course all in Japanese. Then I had to guess as to what it meant, and when I got it right they had such a good time. We talked about kanji and they both agreed that kanji are "a pain in the ass" (めんどくさい). They found it funny that I couldn't read any of the kanji that was on the exercisepapers. Because when kids can do something adults can't, no matter what, it's funny to them. But of course they understood that it's difficult for me, being non-Japanese. They concluded that I needed kanji-homework! So we switched roles, them being the teacher and me being the student. We had so much fun! So they eagerly wrote down homework for me and stated that it indeed had to be done within next wednesday. I'm looking forward to do my homework and give it back to them. I wonder if they'll remember...

After work I went to Jimmy. And today Jimmy made me dinner :D
It was delish fried veggies, mushrooms, chicken and rice! Thanx, honey <3

Thursday 25th of June
I was supposed to do alot of Japanese studies, but I ended up napping for x amount of hours xD
Jimmy napped first, after eating breakfast together and watching Supernatural. I did Japanese in the meantime, then somehow we switched and I took a nap while Jimmy did Japanese. Then we went out to eat lunch. So much napping! It's like a drug! Hahah.

Later I had to get ready to go to Shibuya! Because it's my first time giving private English tutoring :D I joined an English teaching-site and by now I have been contacted by two people. So Today I had my first tutoring which went very well! My "student" was an adult, wanting to maintain his English after coming back to Japan (after living in America for many years). We scheduled one hour with the price of 3000 yen per hour (190 kroner/time). He was happy with me as his English tutor so we're going to schedule our next meeting! Generally we talked about hobbies, different cultures and countries, traveling, food etc. In Japan it's easy to find a spot to talk, because it's just finding the closest cafe. Cafes in Japan is being used for most things; sleeping, homework or jog related work, chatting, and meetings.

Day 115,116 and 117: Party and work, that's all you need!

Hello!

Sunday 31st of May

Today I was invited to a 飲み放題 party (nomihoudai = all-you-can-drink) by my friend Rina that lives in my share place. It was from 17-20 and it was a lot of fun! It cost 3000 yen (180-190 kroner) and was included food. I was the only non-asian, which I thought was a little funny :P Fortunately some of the others could speak very good English! That way I didn't have to only speak Japanese, and my brain could rest a little~

Everyone was chatting, eating and drinking! :)

This is a picture of the lucky winners of the random lottery. I thought I won because I heard "Vicky", but in reality it was"Ricky". After a little confusing, Ricky was so kind to give the prize to me! It turned out to be a really good moisturizer (I love it!). Thank you!
Here is a picture of everybody that came to the party! It was awesome!
On our way home we stopped to buy frozen yoghurt xD Haha! It was very good!

Monday 1st of June

Classes at Uni as usual~ Nothing really interesting happened.. :P It was work today too! I took two pictures of my preperation, because why not~

This is the overview of which student does which level of English, and when they have skype calls. This is then the base for the next picture.
Here I'm making homework based on what the students do in the classroom. This is just repetition. Usually just vocabulary and simple sentences.
When class start I collect the homework and correct it. Then I help the students during class. After the students go home I write down how far the students got, write a small note about their work, reserve new skype calls and clean the classroom. And then I go home :)

I'm also working 3 days extra during the TOEIC-test that's next weekend and 27th of June. That's from 07:50-15, so I can get many more hours!

After coming home, I did some grocery shopping, cleaned my room, went for a jog, skyped with my mom and took a shower before going to bed. It was very nice to talk to mom and we had a lot of stuff to catch up to <3

Tuesday 2nd of June
Every tuesdays are only 08:50-10:20, so the rest of the day went to practise for the Japanese mid-term exam  that's tomorrow, working out my legs and butt, cleaning my room (AGAIN..I don't know what's happening at this point) and making a healthy obento (lunch) for tomorrow. And that's pretty much it.

Next thursday I'm going to FujiQ themepark with Penny, her boyfriend and some other student from Uni! I'm looking forward to it!
