Day 151-159: Go-karting, Japanese photo shoot and The Avengers!

Ok, so this time it's going to be a whole week... I have been busy (and lazy...) so yeah...
Monday 6th of July
Lol, I don't remember what I did this day xD Hahaha... Went to Uni then work I guess...
I had some delish fruit!

Tuesday 7th of July
After Uni I went home to work out as usual, but I actually managed to hurt my leg. Haha, fail. It wasn't anything major...So I did other stuff like cleaning and doing my homework. I also finished the presentation for my Sustainability exam which is on Friday. I also made the best dinner ever! Pancakes with kiwi, banana and yoghurt~

Wednesday 8th of July
Today I was off from work, so I managed to do even more on my presentation. Nothing major happening... Had some yummy dinner with Jimmy tho~

Thursday 9th of July
Finally something interesting happened! GO-KARTING! :D The Go-kart was all the way in Saitama, so it took us about 1,5 hour to get there by train and bus. When we arrived it started to rain so we were afraid if we wern't able to drive in the rain. But even though it rained A LOT! we could drive! To say the least; I got soaked! Haha!! Water dripping from my shoes and stuff. Had to switch my suit halfway... It was going crazy fast and I could easly die...No kidding...But it went ok, even thought it was scary because of all the water on the road, but no accident happened! (Just almost...)

Friday 10th of July
Dooms day! No, I'm kidding. I had my presentation today, and it went very well ^_^ Even though I was talking about fish farming in Norway, I somehow managed to entertain the other students (at least some of them..). Then, right after Uni, I went to the cinema with Jimmy. Watching Averngers - age of ultron:
For some reason it came out SOOOO late in Japan... Like 2 months!
Saturday 11th of July
Double work! Today I had my first photo shoot for an article! My friend Yuhei contacted me if I wanted to do a photo shoot for an article about portable Wifi. I'm a foreign turist trying to find my way through Tokyo with this Wifi. So we went to different locations, starting from Asakusa, and took pictures of me at different locations. The picture under is when I try the toy vending machine. I got two toys; an onigiri and a cute banana. We also ate sushi! Yum! All together it a very fun and interesting job! I would love to do it again!  While waiting (before the shooting) two different people came up to me for a picture. One old Japanese man, of course (haha) and one young taiwanese girl. It's fun how there are a ton of foreigners, but they still want to take a picture together! XD
Later today I had a new student for my Private Tutoring. We ended up having a 2,5 hour lesson at a cafe with only conversation training. It was a lot of fun and good money!
Sunday 12th of July
It was soooo hot today! So it was nice being inside even though I had to do my report for my Social Change in Japan-class. Later I had another new student! So I had a 1 hour session in Shinjuku. From now I have three students! I hope for even more! :D

Ice because it's 30C+
And of course some dinner!

Day 138 and 139: Mad Max and Japanese yukata

Monday 22th of June

Ok, I'm going to tell you a little about my experience with the English-logic at my job. I work at a cram school, which is a "school after school"-system. And there are different subjects being taught. I'm, as you properly know, work with English. And today my boss came to talk while I was preparing for class. He said that one of the students didn't understand the "chant along"-part in his textbook. It's a little melody where you sing along English sentences. And this was apparently so difficult that he had cried over it. My boss showed me in the book, and I was thinking about different solutions to solve the problem. My first thought was to go through the words together, and slowly build up the the meaning of the sentence. While I was thinking, my boss took out a new book for me to give the student. I got a little confused, and asked if the student was to SKIP the parts he didn't understand, and that was exactly what he was thinking. So...If something is difficult, we just skip it!?

Japan got this "perfectionism" going on, where it's more important for a child to get a perfect score than to understand what he/she is doing. It's such a shame because I have the resources to help the students. But that is apperantly not how it's done at my workplace. So the student got a new book and all worries were left behind.

Tuesday 23rd of June

Jimmys got 2 weeks of from Uni! It's always nice to have a little vacation ;)  After my Global Mindset class I bought tickets for the Mad Max movie at 15:30. Jimmy has never been to a Japanese cinema so, since I'm a pro at this, I'm taking him~ Then I rode my bike home and soon after Jimmy took the train to my place ^_^ We hang out a little before heading to Minamiosawa to eat lunch

We had some time before the movie started to we went to the mall nearby. They sell yukata
A yukata (浴衣?) is a Japanese garment, a casual summer kimono usually made of cotton or synthetic fabric, and unlined. Yukata are worn by men and women.
and I found one that I really liked so I bought it! Pretty random, but it's something I have wanted for a long time. Now I just need an occasion to use it, hehe. This is my first time trying to wear it, so be kind! I think I'll have to ask someone with experience when I'm wearing it outside. Don't want to make any "gaijin"-mistakes :P

Either way, back to the cinema! There were only 5-6 people in the entire hall so it was very nice. The movie Mad Max it self was weird because of the storyline. But the action and style was cool!
After the movie we hung out at my place and didn't really do anything special xD Our favourite hobby is to snuggle and nap, true story!

Day 84 and 85: A new bike and Japanese Cinema!

Hello!

Thursday 29th of April

So today I slept for sooooo long! I actually slept for so long that I got tired, haha. I read in my japanese grammar book and practiced some vocabulary. The time flew by and it was already time for dinner. I took the train to Suidobashi to meet Jimmy at his Uni. We then went to Watami to eat. After dinner I went home and cought up to the two latest episodes of Supernatural season 10. Only a few more episodes till season finaly! So exciting~~

Friday 1st of May

The last day before Golden Week! :D I had Sustainability Studies for 2. period, but forgot to read the reading assignment... Since I have 4,5 hours to spare until the Social change in Japan-class. My mentor was being awesome to show me around the Sport campus. I got to take a look at the timetable, when I can use the different parts. I can go whenever there is marked pink:

After the tour we went to Asahi bike store to buy a bike. And Since my mentor is the kindest mentor he bought the bike for me. I'll use it till I'm done at Uni and then he will continue to use it. I'm so lucky! Now I can take the bike to school without thinking about buying and selling! And he did it all on his day off! I couldn't thank him enough!
A little lunch before the Social Change in Japan-class

After Uni, I met up with cutie Anika to eat dinner and then go to see Cinderella in the cinema

I have never been to a Japanese cinema before, so I was very excited to see how it was! The entrance is very cosy and simple.
In the far back you can buy candy, soda etc, and you can smell the delish caramel pop corn even before entering~ *drools*
Then you get in line to the machines
Then you order your ticket and select your seats. I didn't pay attention to if you can chose english on ht machine or not... 2 tickets for Cinderella coming up! It was 1100 yen per ticket.
 Timetable + machines
And this is the room. And the first thing that striked me was: IT'S SO CLEAN! Not a single pop corn were to be found (even after the movie). It was so nice! The movie was in english with japanese subtitles (thank god). The only annoying part was that the lights doesn't turn on during the credits, so you end up sitting there till the end. Of course you can go if you want, but I didn't wan to risk falling in the dark.
The movie was done 21:15 and I took the bike home. It took me about 40 minutes, because I was messing around campus on my search for the river. Once I found the river it's just following it straight to my house! It's so cool! It's almost no hills at all, so I'm looking forward to take the bike to Uni. I didn't understand how to turn on the lights on my bike so I rode in blind, haha. So dark! But I got home safe ^_^
